Birds
Bird art is a form of art that depicts birds in paintings, illustrations, and sketches. It can be symbolic, scientific, or both.Â
Some of the earliest examples of bird art are in cave markings from Ancient Egypt. Birds also often represented sacrifice, resurrection, the soul, or death in Renaissance art.
Hugely symbolic, birds have been used to represent freedom, nobility, fertility, bravery, omens for good or ill, human hopes and spiritual beliefs - as well as an expression of the poet, messenger of the Gods, human-animal connection, and extinction.Â
